Was Dom, Now Dominic

Newly married couple Yuri and Ed came to Kyoto for their honeymoon.

( Unfortunately?! ) 5 of Ed's friends were along for the ride.

3 of them were sharing a room with the newly weds!

Yuri showed me a picture of the boys asleep.

Not a pretty sight, but cuuuuute!!

Tonight was their last night, and we went to a place called "Den En".

It was an "all-you-can-drink for 2 hours" place. Very simple, right? Yes, should have been.

But of course this is Japan...... there were loads and loads of conditions.

Ok, here we go:

For boys, it was 1600 yen, plus beer, 1900 yen.
For girls, it was 1200 yen, plus beer, 1500 yen.
Easy so far!

When we had all decided what we wanted, the waiter said,

"Sorry, the boys have to agree on what they want."

"What do you mean?"

" All the boys have to have the same order, beer or no beer."

"...........Ok. Then all boys will go for beer. And one girl will drink beer too."

"Sorry, but all the girls have to agree on what they want"

"...............................Ok. We'll all go for beer"

I see, no choice as usual.

Anyway, when we were relieved to get it over with, the waiter came back.

"I' m afraid, if you don't order food, it will cost you an extra 350yen each"

"What do you mean??"

"Well, there is a 350yen surcharge for anyone who doesn't order food."

"Oh.......... Ok. ( Whatever!) "

Then 2 more people came. They of course ordered the all-you-can-drink option. (One boy and one girl, in case you are wondering)
After a bit, a waitress came.

"Last orders for food."

"Ok...... no thanks."

But she didn't leave. Instead, she said,

"Last orders for drink."

"Ok, 2 more pitchers, please."

"Sorry, I'm afraid you have to finish one pitcher before you order the next."

We polished off one and ordered one more.

But the late-comers still had time left, or so we thought.

However, when they tried to order,

"Sorry, I'm afraid............."

"Why not? They came at least 30 minutes later than us."

"Sorry, I'm afraid that they joined your group, so their time limit is the same."

............WHAT IS THAT???

Then Dom got on the case.

He started with "Oooookkkaay. Separate the tables people! See? we're different groups now"

"Sorry, but I'm afraid the receipt is the same."

Ummm. They are one step ahead.

"Ooookkkkaaayyy. Could you split the receipt, please?"

"Sorry, I'm afraid you had to do that at the beginning"

Dom looked straight at her and said, "You, cheeky bastards"

Yes yes yes! That's exactly what I wanted to hear!!!
He even said it with smile.
Dom, you are wonderful!!

That's the Dom I know.
He doesn't let it get to him, but he says what he wants to say.
Even if he thinks he can't have it the way he wants, he tries anyway.
Sometimes he can, but when he can't, it doesn't matter.
He finishes with a "Fuck it" and a big smile.
Beautiful. I love that.

Ps. "Lets ALL go to different tables" was a (drunk-but-still-very-beautiful-eyed) Jules suggestion.
That was funny!
Anyway, congratulations Yuri & Ed!!!
